Food For Health

The Dohmen Company Foundation launched the Food For Health program in 2020. Food For Health’s purpose is to help people regain and preserve their health with meals tailored to reverse and manage disease. The program has successfully demonstrated the ability to improve health outcomes, and is supported operationally by Focused Fork and the Dohmen Company Foundation.



The Program Director is the ambassador of the food-based healthy lifestyle program. The Program Director will place emphasis on the program’s expansion and financial sustainability through building long-term funding and payer partnerships. This includes working to identify commercial and charitable clients and serve as an account manager to guide the clients through implementation and launch, assist them through the program experience and articulate the successful outcomes and social impact to internal and external audiences. A key deliverable will be to determine the future plan for Food for Health and its viability as a separate 501c3.

The Program Director will report to the President of the Dohmen Company Foundation.



  • Successful situation of Food For Health as a recognized Food is Medicine provider

  • Meet and or exceed program growth strategy

  • By the end of 2021, determine plan and viability of organization as separate 501c3



Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute Food For Health program roadmap through strategic and operational leadership

  • Collaborate with internal and external constituents for the success of the program

  • Carry out strategic initiatives (e.g. Program Booklet, Food Education program build, etc.)

  • Develop regional, state and national partnerships to leverage resources to deepen and accelerate impact

  • Participate in the Food is Medicine Coalition’s Accelerator program

  • Create and execute a community engagement strategy


Administration and Account Management

  • Grow the participation of the program through contracts with healthcare payers, managed care organizations, providers etc.

  • Serve as the account manager for existing and new clients, create program outcome reports, implement/launch new clients

  • Effectively communicate with a variety of audiences from residents to executives

  • Create a culture that fosters trust, mutual respect, and open communication.



  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree desired

  • 5 years of related experience; 3 years supervisory experience

  • Proven business leader with nonprofit experience

  • Mission-driven leader with a strong desire to collaborate across organizations for maximum benefit

  • Knowledge of healthcare sector (specifically, knowledge of government healthcare programs)

  • Experience and passion in food systems, food security, and health equity

  • Strategic thinker with aptitude for implementation and action

  • Proven relationship building skills and ability to lead and participate in work across sectors

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in fundraising or business development

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation communication, and public relations skills

  • Self-starter and takes the initiative
