The Crisis

Knowledge is Power

Where We Focus Our Efforts

The average American diet is fueling a national health crisis.
Too often, what fills our grocery stores, pantries, and plates isn’t really food – it’s ultra-processed, nutrient-poor products that are actively harming our health.

Ultra-processed foods now make up 60% of the adult diet – and an alarming 70% of what young people eat. Designed for shelf life, not human life, these products are linked to alarming rates of preventable disease.

Engineered for overconsumption and aggressively marketed, they are driving a surge in chronic conditions we can – and must – address.

The Alarming Statistics

Our nation is sick. The standard American diet and its underlying dependency on processed food is largely to blame.

We remain resolute in our efforts to elevate the role of nutritious food in preventing disease and improving health.

Building awareness through partnerships

To address the growing health crisis, Dohmen Company Foundation is working with leading researchers to deepen our understanding of the negative health impacts of these products and promote a national conversation on how best to address ultra-processed foods – the root cause of the diet-related epidemic.

Our Commitment

We’re helping shape a national conversation on the health risks of ultra-processed food – and the urgent need for change.

In September 2022, Dohmen Company Foundation pledged $75 million over seven years to promote and provide healthy food solutions. Then in March 2023, we launched the Dohmen Impact Investment Fund, a $60 million initiative – which has since grown – dedicated to investing in social enterprises that align with our vision to reverse diet-related diseases.

Through public commitments and strategic investments, we’re advancing nutrition-forward solutions that put health first.
